Having beta tested Blue Mars and having actually looked into Avatar Reality, I can say that being a competitor to SL is NOT in their claims. Avatar Reality is clear about the fact that they are a platform provider and that independant developers will provide places and content. Yes, their hardware requirements are somewhat high, but they are lookinf forward and that alone to me is also proof that they are not setting their sights on SL.
Maybe only ActiveWorlds, but because they are sustainable and have a strong community.
Thanks for your sights, Omind, always useful.. I find very difficult for anyone to compete with SL in this moment, almost impossible, because of their technology, enormous infrastructure, and already existing community.
