HP Launches A Desktop 3D Printer

Hewlet Packard has launched a 3D printer called "HP Designjet", that uses ABS plastic as material to print in 8 colors: ivory, black, red, olive green, nectarine, fluorescent yellow, blue, and gray.

Its price is high, although other 3D printers are much expensive than this: about 1500 euro, plus VAT.

It can produce models of 203x203x152 mm, which is quite much for a desktop printer.

As everytime when we talk about 3D desktop printers, these are not a real alternative to a 3D printing service like Shapeways or Cloudfab, but more a way to have a testing and prototyping machine in your home.
